 A faucet/tap is a device for delivering water from a plumbing system. It can consist of the following components: spout, handle(s), lift rod, cartridge, aerator, mixing chamber, and water inlets. When the handle is turned on, the valve opens and controls the water flow adjustment under any water or temperature condition.

The Problem

The Cartridge is the heart, of all the pieces that go into making a Tap. The Tap manufacturing industry is currently and in the past relying on Cartridges whose body is made out of Brass, which in turn contains Lead. It is scientifically known that Lead consumption due to water coming in contact with the Brass body, is know to be of major harm to our health. 

To put the quantity of Lead that is harmful into perspective, consider this example. Say a person is consuming half a cup of tea. And to this tea let us say they consider adding a spoon of sugar. Now suppose they make a million piles from that spoon of sugar and use ONLY 10 piles. Now if those 10 piles were considered to be lead, even that is a cause of serious concern !!!
